You are the Salt of the earth!

"You are the Salt of the earth;"

Jesus' statement here is one of those telling his followers that they are to be forces for good, examples of light to a world in darkness.  Salt is a spice which enhances the flavor of food, it makes otherwise unpalatable tasting dishes edible.  It is in this spirit that I intend to use this blog as a guide for those hungry for God's word, and how it can help us to live our lives more fully in this stormy world which surrounds us.

As a Christian of many years God's word, and what it says for us today, is my most important study.  It tells us of the past, guides us through the future and points us towards the glorious future when death, sickness, and pain will be no more (Rev. 21:4).  It is true, and however much many deny it today, consistent, making it a reliable guide for our paths in this life.

As a student of it, I am also a student of it languages, and those into which it was translated early on.  I’m self-taught where those languages are concerned and make no claims of academic scholarship.  I am also a student of where God’s word came from, how we came to have it as we do today.  All these things I hope to bring to bear on the many subjects we will cover together through this blog.

I am not what one would call mainstream, having come out of the Adventist tradition, and I make no apologies for that.  I will call it as I see it and let the cards fall where they may.

Still, in the spirit of the scripture cited at the beginning of this post, Matthew 5:13, I will do my best to flavor my writing with salt; for my goal is to help others in their journey through this life, and to become believers in the son of God, if they are not already.

  1. I whole heartly agree with the words you have chosen. If only those who would call theirselves Christians would put away the foolish human dogma and embrace the true and loving way in the footsteps of our Lord and Master Jesus Christ. To truly see that Jesus's God and our God"The Almighty" is truly Love in all of the glory and majesty He is. To fully understand the horrible injustice false christians lay before the world opinion in claims that our Great Almighty Creator would send any of His creatures to torment and torture or eternal agony of any kind. Even our Great God said to the Israelites: "Jer 32:35 And they built the high places of Baal, which are in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire unto Molech; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin." God says, "it is an abomination for them to cast their children into the fire." How much more is the abomination of thought to think our Great Father would do this to any of his creation. Some would defile the argument a say it was due to them doing it for Molech's sake. God forbid such twist of logic! Our Father and Jesus's Father would never ordain any violence of Justice. The Living Scriptures declares that the justice for wickedness is death and the scriptures declares that in death there is no knowledge nor understanding and no pain, simply put Death is the opposite of life; non-existence. To those who want to twist the purely human dogma of the Lake of Fire into a manmade theory and purpetuate the lies of Satan I say, "shame on you". Listen to Stanley's words of truth above. Listen to the scriptures as a whole. Stop using the metaphoric language of Revelations in the wrong interprtation. Most individuals that want sinners to go to hell have vengence issues; Let God be the avenger His justice is true and balanced with pure love. Some of you that promote fire and brimestone as an eternal punishment use it as a means to promote fear and have control issues for gains sake. Let God have control of the futures of his creation. God's plan is far better than man,s abominational theories’. If you find yourself upset with this post comment now; just wait untill judgement day you will truly find out what the waling and grinding of teeth is all about when you see the loss of the high calling and you stand in judgement side by side with those you cast into hell. Then The Great Judge and Highpriest over the world Jesus Christ will teach you how wrong you were and turn your shame into thankfullness.
